Honoring Veterans Where Our Country Began: Valley Forge

VALLEY FORGE, PA —The community is invited Saturday to a reenactment of Muhlenberg’s Brigade at the site of his encampment in the winter of 1777-79 in what is now Valley Forge National Park.

Reenactors from Historical Military Impression, a nonprofit educational organization, will be stationed at the huts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to talk with visitors about the American armed forces from the Indian War to the Vietnam War.

Uniforms, vehicles, and gear of soldiers through the years will be on display. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the National Memorial Arch, Outline Drive, and Gulph Road.

The arch commemorates the arrival and the sacrifices of Gen. George Washington and the Continental Army at Valley Forge during the winter of the American Revolutionary War.

Veterans and members of the military are invited to pick up lifetime free passes at the Valley Forge Visitor’s Center, 1400 North Outer Line Drive, King of Prussia.
