Thanks to rajah.com reader Rem Martinez for sending in the following recap:

Hey guys, I just got home from the NXT Live Event at the Riverside Municipal
Auditorium in Riverside, CA. ECIII hung out with the fans at the corridor
before we were able to sit. The venue was sold out and was rocking from start
to finish. Kayla Braxton is our announcer for the evening. Enjoy the Champ’s
Report of the show.

Match #1

Kassius Ohno vs Marcel Barthel

Kassius got a nice pop from the crowd. Marcel got almost no reaction from the
NXT Universe. Marcel was portraying the prototypical snooty foreign heel. A
good back and forth match that saw Marcel draw heat by speaking in his native
German Language. Kassius put Barthel away with a Rolling Elbow 1-2-3.

Winner: Kassius Ohno

Good opener

Match #2

Vanessa Bourne vs Jessie

The best way I can describe Jessie is that she is a lot like the Nerdy
Babyface AJ Lee, but who dances a lot. Vanessa wasn’t having any of it and
attacked Jessie. This was a match was anything, but memorable. Vanessa put
Jessie away with a Running Neckbreaker for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Vanessa Bourne

Backstage, we see Heavy Machinery standing next to a painting. Tucker Knight
talks about how tonight, they can capture the NXT Tag Team Championship from
the Undisputed Era. The segment ends with Otis Dozovic talking to the
painting.

Match #3

Kona Reeves vs Brennan Williams

Kona cut a promo before the match telling us he is “NXT’s Finest”. Williams
is a former NFL Offensive Lineman for the Houston Texans. He was trained by
WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T. A lot of rest holds and playing to the crowd in
this one. Kona stole the win by stacking Brennan with his feet on the ropes
for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Kona Reeves

Match #4

Undisputed Era (Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly) (c) vs Heavy Machinery for
the NXT Tag Team Championship

This match was a blast to watch. Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong were
bumping all over the place for the Challengers. Tucker Knight was isolated by
the Era, until Otis made a hot tag. Otis had Roddy down and climbed to the
top rope. Kyle O’Reilly low bridges Tucker Knight. It looks like Otis is
going for a Vader Bomb, but Kyle foils his attempt. The Champs hit the Total
Elimination (High-Low) finisher on Otis and Roderick Strong gets the 1-2-3.

Winners: And Still NXT Tag Team Champions: Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong

Match #5

Johnny Gargano vs Lars Sullivan

Before the match, Lars cut a promo saying he was going to break the “Little
Man” after breaking his jaw @ NXT Takeover: Chicago. Johnny got on the mic
and said that he hasn’t been in a good either since last Wednesday (When
Ciampa won the NXT Championship) and is ready for a fight. This match was
also a treat to watch. Johnny Wrestling was flying all over the place. Johnny
countered the Freak Accident into a DDT and got a near fall. Johnny then
climbed to the top rope. Lars pushed the referee into Johnny Gargano and the
ref is calling for the bell.

Winner: Johnny Gargano by Disqualification

After the match, Lars goes under the ring and gets a Steel Chair. Lars gets
back in the ring and hoists the chair in the air. Johnny quickly Superkicks
Lars and he drops the chair. Johnny then gets the chair and blasts Lars in
the back with it twice. Lars retreats to the back.

Intermission Time

Match #6

Kairi Sane and Candice LeRae vs Taynara Conti and Shayna Baszler

Kairi Sane got a nice pop, but Candice got a huge hometown reaction (she was
billed from Riverside). The NXT Women’s Champion wanted no part of the match
early on and let her partner get beat up. Shayna then picked her spot and the
heels were able to isolate the Pirate Princess from her corner. Candice gets
a hot tag and she is on fire. She takes Shayna out with a Tope Suicida and
hits the Unprettier/Killswitch on the legal Conti. LeRae then hits a
Springboard Moonsault on Taynara for the 1-2-3.

Winners: Kairi Sane and Candice LeRae

Match #7

Adam Cole (c) vs Tyler Breeze for the NXT North American Championship

The crowd exploded for Adam Cole (Bay Bay), but Prince Pretty received a nice
“Welcome Back” chant. This was a great match where both men really delivered.
Adam mocked Tyler by pretending to take a picture. Tyler responded by
pointing in the air and saying “Tyler Breeze Bay Bay!!” They ending up having
a Bay Bay off, if you will. Match ends when Tyler hits the Beauty Shot on the
North American Champion and he is out. Before Tyler can get the pin, here
comes Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly. Referee Drake Wuertz is able to stop
O’Reilly from getting into the ring, but that allows Roddy to slip in and hit
a knee to the head on Tyler Breeze. Adam Cole hits the Shinning Wizard to the
back of Tyler’s head 1-2-3.

Winner: And Still NXT North American Champion: Adam Cole

The 3 Undisputed Era Members try to retreat to the back, but they are cut off
by Heavy Machinery. Otis and Tucker take out the Tag Team Champions on the
outside. Adam Cole is left alone in the ring with Tucker, Otis and Breeze.
Breeze is able to land another Beauty Shot. The babyfaces dance in the ring
to the delight of the crowd.

Main Event

ECIII and Aleister Black vs Velveteen Dream and Tommaso Ciampa

The new NXT Champion came out to major heat. Everyone else got a nice pop.
This was great way to close out the show. The story of the match was that
Velveteen Dream and Tommaso Ciampa were not getting along at all. The Dream
was playing to the crowd and Ciampa felt disrespected. The heels kept making
blind tags on one another to escalate the situation. Eventually, Ciampa takes
his championship and leaves. The Dream then realizes that he is alone and
Aleister Black is standing right behind him. Velveteen turns around and get
the Black Mass for the 1-2-3.

Winners: ECIII and Aleister Black

ECIII gets on the mic and cuts a promo to send the fans home happy.
