More Backstage Notes From Tuesday's Smackdown 1000 Show

— As reported yesterday, Batista was said to have very late for Smackdown 1000. PWInsider reports that he got to the arena at 6 PM for a show that was scheduled to go on air at 8 PM. That may seem like a lot of time, but considered quite late by WWE standards as they always want talent to arrive well before the show is to begin.

— The original opening segment for the show was scheduled to be the World Cup qualifier and Rey Mysterio’s return match against Shinsuke Nakamura, but due to a lot of “shuffling around” in the last few hours before the show started, this match was pushed out.

— The Undertaker’s in-ring segment was always planned to close the show and PWInsider confirms what we initially reported that it was supposed to last much longer but was shortened when other segments went over their allotted time. WWE also cut the time off the Mysterio/Nakamura match and as we also first reported, several segments were scrapped due to time constraints. One of these was with James Ellsworth, which WWE changed to a quick backstage promo that they instead aired on their You Tube channel.

— The Truth TV segment was supposed to take place later on in the show and we had heard that it also ran a bit longer than planned. The Miz vs. Rusev match was always planned to be very quick.

— Despite being a name who was reported as being at Smackdown 1000, Kane was not backstage at the show.
