Racing Point’s Lance Stroll has pulled out of Saturday’s free practice session at the Eifel GP after feeling unwell, with the team assessing whether the Canadian will be fit for this afternoon’s qualifying.

At the outset of of FP3 – the single practice session scheduled for teams after yesterday’s wash out – Racing Point issued a bulletin revealing Stroll’s plight.

“Lance Stroll is not feeling 100% this morning and will therefore not participate in FP3. His condition will be assessed after the session to evaluate whether he is fit to drive, at which point the team will confirm plans for Quali.”

Nico Hulkenberg who replaced Sergio Perez at Silverstone earlier this year is Racing Point’s official reserve driver, and the German driver is now present at the  Nürburgring after swiftly making his way from nearby Cologne.
