ROH Announces New Title Match For 17th Anniversary Pay-Per-View

A new title match is now official for the ROH 17th Anniversary pay-per-view.

This week, Ring Of Honor (ROH) announced Villain Enterprises will be challenging The Kingdom for the ROH Six-Man Tag Titles at the upcoming ROH 17 show in Las Vegas, Nevada next month.

ROHWrestling.com posted the following announcement:

Villain Enterprises To Challenge Kingdom For ROH World Six-Man Tag Titles in Las Vegas

On March 16, the night after ROH’s big 17th Anniversary pay-per-view at Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas, The Best Wrestling on the Planet returns to the venue for a pivotal international television taping.

What will the fallout be from the pay-per-view? And how will the events of 17th Anniversary weekend impact the historic G1 Supercard at sold-out Madison Square Garden on April 6? Join us LIVE in Sin City to find out!

The first match signed for the TV taping is an ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title Match pitting champions The Kingdom (Matt Taven, TK O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia) against Villain Enterprises (“The Villain” Marty Scurll, PCO and Brody King).

CHAMPIONS THE KINGDOM (MATT TAVEN, TK O’RYAN, AND VINNY MARSEGLIA) vs. VILLAIN ENTERPRISES (“THE VILLAIN” MARTY SCURLL, PCO AND BRODY KING)

The issue between The Kingdom and Villain Enterprises began in December when Taven, O’Ryan, and Marseglia confronted Scurll at an international television taping in Philadelphia. Believing Scurll had no allies left in ROH, The Kingdom prepared to pounce on him.

Scurll, however, shocked The Kingdom and all the fans in attendance when he introduced PCO and King and announced the formation of Villain Enterprises. A brawl ensued and The Kingdom made a hasty retreat.

A match between the two factions for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles was scheduled to take place later that night, but Taven came out before the match and said that Villain Enterprises didn’t deserve a title shot because they hadn’t even had one match as a team yet. He said they needed to prove themselves, so he arranged for them to face Shinobi Shadow Squad (Cheeseburger, Eli Isom and Ryan Nova).

Villain Enterprises beat 3S and then went on to defeat ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay and Mark Briscoe and Silas Young at Honor Reigns Supreme in January. The ROH Board of Directors was impressed and scheduled a title match between Villain Enterprises and The Kingdom for Lakeland, Fla., on Feb. 9. King ended up being unable to appear, however, so a tag match was booked that saw Scurll and PCO face O’Ryan and Marseglia, and the Villain Enterprises duo came out on top.

Will new ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions be crowned in Las Vegas? Or will The Kingdom continue to reign?
