Driver Crashes Pickup Into Side Of Dallas Fox Station

DALLAS, TX – A man who intentionally drove his pickup into the side of the Fox4 studio in downtown Wednesday morning was arrested, according to a tweet from the station. The incident began to unfold about 4:30 a.m.

According to a Fox4 report, the man repeatedly rammed his pickup into the side of of the building. Witnesses told police that the man, who had a suspicious bag with him, emerged from his pickup and began ranting outside the station about high treason.

The building was evacuated after the incident, but station officials said some personnel worked from a secure area to keep Fox4 on the air. No one was injured in the crash.

The man was reportedly upset about an officer-involved shooting elsewhere and papers scattered along the south side of the Fox4 building were “mostly rambling,” according to a Dallas police spokesperson.

Dallas Police sent out the bomb squad personnel with specialized robotic equipment to examine the suspicious bag inside the pickup.

Officials with DART suspended bus and rail service in the area near the scene until the bomb squad was able to determine if there was the threat of an explosion. Police were able to to determine that the bag was not an explosive device, and collected evidence at the crash scene.

Officials who have not released the name of the driver, said the driver had previously made threats against WFAA in Dallas and may have driven to the wrong station.
