Man, 72, Dies From Train Strike On Long Island: MTA Police
LONG ISLAND, NY — A 72-year-old man died after he was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train in Shirley on Saturday night, Metropolitan Transportation Authority police said Monday.

He was struck by an eastbound Montauk Branch train on the tracks at the Smiths Road grade crossing, west of the Mastic-Shirley LIRR station just after 11 p.m., according to police.
No criminality is suspected, police said.
