DARIEN, IL – A Darien man was charged earlier this month after he refused to leave a local bar’s property, despite numerous requests to do so, police said.

Patch obtained the police report through a public records request.

About 12:30 a.m. Sept. 14, two Darien officers witnessed a disturbance inside Q Bar, 8109 Cass Ave.

The officers said they asked a large group of people to leave, which they did. The officers followed the group to the parking lot, with the crowd dispersing.

But a 34-year-old Willowbrook man did not, police said.

While waiting for his Uber, he tried to start fights with those leaving the bar, according to the report. He even asked two officers to take off their bulletproof vests, implying he wanted to fight them, police said.

Told to leave, the man was quoted as asking the officers, “What did I do?”

Officers said they told the man several times that he would be cited for trespassing if he did not leave.

The Uber arrived, but the man refused to get into it. He stated he would stay at Q Bar, police said.

He was then charged and taken to the police station.

At the police station, the man refused to be fingerprinted, police said. He was released from booking and ordered an Uber home.
