Grass Fire Breaks Out In Livermore

LIVERMORE, CA — Several fires broke out in Livermore Friday afternoon, according to the Alameda County Fire Department Pulsepoint app. The largest is a grass fire on Concannon Boulevard and Wente Street, close to several homes and wineries.

The fire started at 3:17 p.m. Friday, and there are 10 units on scene and one on the way as of 4 p.m., according to the app. It was a fast moving grass fire that crews quickly gained control of, according to ACFD spokesperson Cheryl Hurd.

The fire expanded to a half-acre and extended into a detached garage, but was stopped, according to a report from Watch Duty. The garage was knocked down and the structural threat was mitigated, according to radio traffic reported by Watch Duty.

The garage was likely part of a residential fire reported at Concannon Boulevard and Arroyo Road, about a two minute drive away from the Concannon Fire. The fire broke out at 3:20 and was closed at 3:35 p.m., according to the app.

Livermore police said they are in the area performing traffic control, and asked drivers to observe road closures.

An outdoor fire was also reported at 400 Longfellow Court, an Amazon fulfillment center in an industrial area south of I-580 near Altamont. This was also closed at 3:20 p.m., according to Pulsepoint.
