Smith Haven Mall Wins Best Mall On Long Island: 'We're Thrilled'
LAKE GROVE, NY — Smith Haven Mall won Best Mall on Long Island for the first time in the Bethpage Best of Long Island Awards.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized as the ‘Best Mall on LI’ in the Best Of Long Island contest by Bethpage Federal Credit Union,” Jillian Friello, director of marketing and business development at Smith Haven Mall, told Patch. “It has always been a priority of ours to offer the very best in family shopping and entertainment for the community. This selection is especially gratifying for Smith Haven Mall as we strive to provide shoppers with even more new and exciting dining options in 2024, including Ford’s Garage, Kong Dog, Black Pearl Bubble Tea, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, New York Fries, and K-Pot Korean BBQ.”
The mall is managed by Simon Property Group and offers Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and the anticipated Primark, the Bethpage Best awards page reads.

“Since its opening in 1969, the mall has evolved, undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2006–2007, introducing a lifestyle village and welcoming renowned brands like Apple, Cheesecake Factory, and L.L.Bean,” the awards page reads. “Notable for its artistic history, the mall once housed works by Alexander Calder and Larry Rivers. As it adapts to changing retail landscapes, recent transformations include the departure of JCPenney, paving the way for Primark, and Sears’ shift to Stony Brook Advanced Medicine!”
Previous winners of Best Mall on Long Island in the awards are Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City (2x), Broadway Commons in Hicksville (3x), Tanger Outlets at The Arches in Deer Park (5x). Each previous winner has gone on to win the award at least twice in a row.
