West Orange Changes Public Comment Rules After 'Zoom Bombing'

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Want to make a public comment during the Feb. 27 meeting of the West Orange Town Council? You’ll need to attend in person, township officials say.

Several callers blitzed the public comment portion of the West Orange Town Council meeting on Feb. 13 with antisemitic and racist comments. The Feb. 13 meeting was held remotely via Zoom due to a snowstorm.

When the council gathers again for their meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 66 Main Street, it will require anyone who wants to make a public comment to be in attendance inside the building.
