•Closing Commentary
I said in the headlines that it appears that Marty Scurll vs. the winner of Lethal/Taven (maybe a triple threat?) is the most likely match at the MSG show. Scurll is due a title shot, and it has been reported that his contract is up at the end of April.
That makes it all but certain that Scurll will come up on the losing end of that bout. Leading him to leaving the company after that.
If that is the case, ROH made the booking decision over the last two years to make Cody the ROH World Champion, which is great. They chose not to make Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson (Jay Briscoe is a multi-time ROH World champion, by the way), Adam Page, or Marty Scurll world champions.
To me, that seems like an odd choice in the moment. I also think it is safe to assume that in 5 years, this will be an obvious poor choice by ROH. But at this point it is too late to change that fact.
I will be happy to see Marty go on to greener pastures, and to avoid the non-stop talking and writing of main stars and their contract status.
