Report: Minneapolis a finalist to host WWE WrestleMania 41
Minneapolis is reportedly in the running to host WWE WrestleMania 41.
CBS Minneapolis special contributor Patrick Kessler posted a tweet on Thursday night stating that sources have told him Minneapolis is one of the finalists for WrestleMania 41, which is taking place in 2025.
"BREAKING: Sources tell me Minneapolis is a finalist city for @WrestleMania 2025. This would be a HUGE get," Kessler wrote. "#WrestleMania drew 161,892 fans over two nights @SoFiStadium in Los Angeles earlier this month."
If Minneapolis is chosen, it would be the first time the state of Minnesota has ever hosted a WrestleMania. The event would presumably take place at U.S. Bank Stadium, the home of the NFL's Minnesota Vikings. U.S. Bank Stadium previously hosted Super Bowl LII in 2018.
WrestleMania 40 is taking place in Philadelphia next year. The two-night event is being held at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, 2024.
Locations for future WrestleManias past next year haven't been announced. The Nashville Tennessean reported last November that WWE has given a verbal commitment for Nashville to host WrestleMania 43 in 2027 as long as a new enclosed stadium is built in time.
