India vs Bangladesh: Rohit Sharma To Miss Dhaka Test Due To Injury

Rohit Sharma will miss the 2nd Test vs Bangladesh due to injury, as per Cricbuzz. It starts in Mirpur on December 22.  

Rohit also missed the 1st Test in Chattogram.

With the skipper unavailable, deputy KL Rahul shall remain at the helm as India lead 1-0. 

Rohit’s thumb, which got hurt during the second ODI vs Bangladesh, is yet to heal completely.

He appears to feel some stiffness. 

With important series ahead, the BCCI decided not to take a risk. 

Rohit is expected to be ready for the 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs vs Sri Lanka from January 3.

The 35-year-old was hit on the thumb as he attempted a catch in the slips in the second ODI.

The BCCI medical team assessed him and he was taken to Mumbai to be treated on December 7. 

The skipper’s absence might have just solved a major selection headache ahead of the second Test because it would not be easy to leave someone out. 

India won the first Test by 188 runs. 

Shubman Gill hit a maiden Test ton while stand-in skipper Rahul did not perform up to expectations with the bat.
