Complaint filed by University
Incidentally, Sriram did not file a complaint over the assault.
Based on the complaint given by the Head of the Disciplinary Committee of Mahindra University, an FIR was registered against Kumar’s son at Dundigal police station under Sections 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) and other relevant provisions of the IPC.
Police said they will summon the students and hostel staff for questioning once the university reopens after vacation.
According to reports, Bhagirath Sai was angry with Sriram for allegedly getting close to his friend’s sister.
Assaulted student ‘confesses’
Later yet another video surfaced online showing Sriram’ confessing’.
In the second video, Sriram said he had sent an objectionable text to the sister of Bhagirath’s friend and when the minister’s son approached him to discuss the matter, he misbehaved with him too.
“I was rude that time, so, Bhagirath beat me up,” he is heard saying in the second video.
We are now friends
Sriram went on to claim the incident took place about two months ago and that they are now friends.
“That video is useless. Whatever, happened is happened. Now, we are on good terms. The video is only being used to create differences between us and blackmail us,” he said.
Kumar claims political conspiracy
Reacting to the FIR registered against his son, Sanjay Kumar said it was a political conspiracy by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He said that students sometimes fight and get back to being friends.
“Students fight and patch up, they should keep children out of politics. The complaint was filed by the university at the behest of the Chief Minister because he wants to silence me,” he said.
