Joliet Hit-And-Run Motorist Faces 2 Felonies: Prosecutors
JOLIET — The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office of Jim Glasgow, after working closely with the Joliet Police Department, has filed two felonies against 37-year-old Joliet motorist Karissa Lynn Zielinski, in connection with a wreck that happened on Nov. 18.
Zielinski has been charged with failure to report an accident involving personal injury or death and also failure to stop after having an accident involving personal injury or death.
According to the criminal complaint, Zielinski was driving a Chevy Malibu when she had a collision on Jefferson Street near Morris Street on Nov. 18. Neil Vick was injured during the crash and Zielinski “failed to report the accident to the Joliet Police Department within one half hour after the accident,” charges show.

As for the second felony, prosecutors say Zielinski knowingly failed to stop at the scene of the Nov. 18 accident “and failed to return to, and in every event, remain at the scene of the accident …”
The Joliet defendant comes from 3900 block of Pandola Avenue, according to her previous logs from Will County’s Jail.
