WESTBROOK, CT — Pepperidge Farm has closed its store at Westbrook Outlets. The store closed Oct. 31, according to Charlie Guthrie, general manager for Westbrook Outlets.
Guthrie said Pepperidge Farm closed “due to rising costs.”
Pepperidge Farm did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment.

The only remaining location of Pepperidge Farm in the state appears to be its wholesale bakery in Bloomfield. This location sells expired and marked down Milanos, Chessman, Goldfish, Bread, and many products made by Pepperidge and their parent company, Campbell Soup Company, according to The Connecticut Scoop.
In 2023, Campbell announced Pepperidge Farm would move its corporate offices from Norwalk to New Jersey. The move affected 154 employees and was part of the company’s plan to relocate roles and consolidate its offices into its New Jersey headquarters.

Previously, Pepperidge Farm operated numerous outlets in the state.
The news of the closure comes at a time of flux for Westbrook Outlets. It’s estimated that only 25 percent of the Westbrook Outlets storefronts are occupied. The outlets list 14 shops in their directory.
Earlier this year, a developer pitched a massive, $425 million development with 595 apartments, 100 townhomes, a new hotel, restaurants, and entertainment space.
Lexington Partners is behind the project for the nearly 50-acre site at 314 Flat Rock Place with construction possibly beginning next year.
Guthrie said they are following the permit approval process and currently working to complete requests made by the state Department of Environmental and Energy Protection.
“Westbrook Outlets looks forward to continued operations well into the later part of 2025 as we work through the permitting process towards our projected redevelopment plans,” he said. “As such we have already developed our initial 2025 festival schedule and began signing new pop-up stores to keep our shoppers entertained until that time comes.”
