City Council Candidate Stacy Hall

“Hello everyone, I’m Stacy Hall—proudly #1 on the ballot! It’s a pleasure to be here tonight as an Independent Candidate for City Council. Thank you to the League of Women Voters for hosting this event, and to all of you, whether you’re here in person or joining us from home.

“I believe that when it comes to our city, party affiliation should take a backseat. I won’t ask whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican. Instead, I see you as a concerned neighbor—someone who cares deeply about the future of our city. Fairfax deserves leadership that is committed, experienced, and above all, independent from party lines.

“Listening to our community is essential in decision-making. My campaign is built on the principle that ‘This is your city, and your opinion matters.’ I am dedicated to ensuring that your voices are heard, especially when it comes to projects right in your backyard. Engaging with you isn’t just good governance; it’s the heart of effective leadership.

“We face important issues together — land development, taxes, school renovations, and local laws — none of which should be viewed through a partisan lens. We need to ensure all residents feel safe, treat our vulnerable populations with dignity, and work toward fully staffing our police while actively reducing crime. These are the priorities that matter most.

“Fiscal responsibility is crucial, too. We need to differentiate between needs and wants, making tough decisions about what we can truly afford, while continuing to provide outstanding city services to all. That’s the level of accountability you should expect from your leaders.

“I am very focused on our local issues. I have lived here since 2011, I have volunteered with you, our kids have played together, you’ve seen me out and about attending our great city events.

“You may remember me from PTA meetings during the pandemic, where I pivoted to create engaging virtual events that kept our families connected.

“At my core, I’m just a mom who cares deeply about our community. When asked to run for the school board two years ago, I stepped up and accepted the challenge. Serving that term further opened my eyes to the pressing need for our residents to be seen and heard.

“So, I stand before you today, asking for your vote for city council. Together, we can make our city a better place for everyone.”

Check back on Tuesday when incumbent city council member Kate Doyle-Feingold discusses her priorities for Fairfax City if she is reelected on Nov. 5.
