Fire marshal Kenneth Beliveau said residents began reporting hearing the blast on social media around 3 a.m. The East Granby Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire at Galasso Materials at 60 South Main Street at 5:04 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a large payloader burning with extension to other equipment. The complex is located well off the road, so a tanker was requested from the Lost Acres Fire Department, as well as engines from the Air Guard and Suffield fire department, Beliveau said.
