Taxes Up In Proposed 2024 Lacey Municipal Budget
LACEY, NJ — Expect an increase in taxes in Lacey’s proposed 2024 municipal budget.
The $41.3 million budget was introduced at the March 28 Township Committee meeting.
In this budget is a 2.7 cent tax increase, according to Municipal Clerk Amy McGuckin. This means the average homeowner with a home assessed at $287,000 can expect to pay $77 more in property taxes annually, or an additional $6.41 a month, McGuckin said.

“These budgets are never easy,” said Deputy Mayor Peter Curatolo, who added that the committee works hard each year on the budget and that they try to make their obligations and not make frivolous purchase.
“We try to do it the right way,” Curatolo said.

Mayor Peggy Sue Juliano took a moment to thank the township’s volunteer firefighters, some of whom she had sworn in that night.
“If we did not have them as our volunteers, you would not even believe where your taxes would go at that point,” Juliano said.
A public hearing on the budget is set for the April 25 meeting, at which time the Township Committee will also vote on it.
