Glencoe Hires New Assistant Village Manager
GLENCOE, IL — Village staff announced a new assistant village manager has been appointed and will begin in the new role later this month.
Benjamin Wiberg is due to take over as Glencoe’s assistant manager starting March 11 after spending the past two years as the assistant to the village manager in Glenview, about 8 miles to the southwest.
Wiberg will support Glencoe’s administrative operations, lead economic development initiatives, work on special projects and oversee day-to-day operations, according to village staff.

He will report to Nikki Larson, who was named deputy village manager late last year in the village’s largest staff reorganization in decades.
Wiberg will also be the project lead for the planned renovation of the living quarters of the Public Safety Department building and the council chamber in Village Hall and be on the project management team for the new clubhouse at the Glencoe Golf Club. In a statement, he said he was excited to join the village’s team.

“Local government is my passion,” Wiberg said. “I look forward to working closely with the Village’s leadership team on a variety of special projects in service of the Glencoe community.”
Village staff said Wiberg was picked from an “outstanding” selection of applicants from across the country.
Village Manager Phil Kiraly said he was thrilled to add Wiberg to the team.
“His varied skill set, commitment to our organization’s customer-first mindset and his enthusiasm for the important work of local government will help us to achieve much in service to Glencoe’s residents and thriving business community,” Kiraly said.
“I am confident he will be a quick study and will be able to immediately work on moving several of our ongoing special projects forward,” he said. “No doubt, he will be an important leader in our organization.”
