WWE SmackDown video highlights: AJ Styles advances to Night of Champions
AJ Styles is heading to Night of Champions with the chance to become a World Champion for the first time since 2018.
Styles earned his place in WWE's World Heavyweight Championship tournament finals with two wins on last night's SmackDown. It will be Styles vs. Seth Rollins at Night of Champions on Saturday, May 27 to decide the inaugural champion.
There were two triple threat matches last night to determine who would face off in the main event of the episode. In his triple threat match, Styles defeated Edge and Rey Mysterio. Bobby Lashley won the other triple threat, defeating Austin Theory and Sheamus.
There was a moment during the main event where Lashley went for a spear but Styles moved out of the way. Lashley was sent into the ring post, which allowed Styles to capitalize and win the match with a Phenomenal Forearm.
SmackDown ended with Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and Michin coming out to the stage to celebrate Styles' victory with him.
