Backstage News on WWE Possibly Getting Rid of Single Brand PPVs

November 28, 2020 0 By JohnValbyNation

— Ticketmaster sent an email out yesterday to people who have bought seats for the May WWE PPV Backlash to inform them that the PPV is going to feature both Raw and Smackdown superstars, which would be a major change as previously only the big four or five PPVs consisted dual branded matches.

— According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the early speculation is that WWE is getting rid of single branded PPVs beginning with Backlash and that all PPVs moving forward will include wrestlers from both Raw and Smackdown.

— WWE has not released any official statement other than to say that an announcement clarifying the rumors is forthcoming, which would strongly imply that these rumors are true. If nothing was changing, the company would likely be quick to squash any rumors with a quick statement stating that.
