Bryan vs. Big Cass at Backlash, Heyman GRR Update, Note on GRR
Daniel Bryan returned to wrestling for the first time in over three years at WrestleMania 34 when he and Shane McMahon scored a win over Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Bryan has since been reinstated as a full time member of the Smackdown roster and he will be participating in the 50-man Royal Rumble match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event this Friday. However, it looks like Bryan will be taking on a bigger opponent not long after that. It has just been confirmed that Daniel Bryan will be taking on Big Cass at WWE’s upcoming Backlash pay-per-view. Bryan vs. Cass face off at Backlash, which is taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on May 6th.

Brock Lesnar will be defending his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns in a WrestleMania rematch this Friday at the Greatest Royal Rumble event. Lesnar and Reigns will be stepping into a Steel Cage for their match this week, but it was recently reported that Paul Heyman will not be coming to Saudi Arabia to accompany Lesnar to the ring as usual. PWInsider has since confirmed that Heyman will now indeed be appearing on The Greatest Royal Rumble show after all. Heyman’s status for the show appeared to be in doubt when did not travel with the Raw roster members after the show on St. Louis, Missouri wrapped up earlier this week, but Heyman will instead be coming to Saudi Arabia with Brock Lesnar later this week.
The Greatest Royal Rumble event is finally coming this Friday in Saudi Arabia. Thankfully, the event will be airing live on the WWE Network for fans to see from all over the world. In addition to the Royal Rumble match itself, the show will see an astounding seven championship matches take place. The latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio has noted that WWE is planning on having some title changes take place during the show. Fans are guaranteed to see a tag team capture the currently vacant Raw Tag Team Championships, but it sounds like there may be one more or possibly several other title switches set to occur during the show later this week.
