The Big Takeaway: Neville beat half of The Ascension with his move while the main event saw Natalya carry an improving Summer Rae for the best part of nine minutes.

Neville beat Viktor (w/ Konnor) (3:50)

There’s no real explanation for why The Ascension are in singles action her tonight. On commentary they say that Konnor and Viktor are looking to strengthen. So either Konnor is hurt of they just had no one to tag with Neville. I can’t believe the latter, but with all the injuries at the minutes, maybe I can.

Viktor puts on an arm bar at the bell and this is followed by a test of strength on the matt. Neville bridges out and then sunset flips Viktor for a quick kick out. Neville does a moonsault and lands on his feet and then uses a hurricanrana to take Viktor down. Neville then runs into a forearm, and is nailed by a stunning looking running uppercut from Viktor. Neville kicks out at two and then takes really stiff chops to the chest. Viktor floors him with a running knee and then puts on a face lock.

When Neville powers out of the hold, he stuns Viktor with a jawbreaker and attacks him with an array of kicks. We then see that those chops that Viktor gave Neville moments ago have resulted in huge red marks on Neville’s chest. After a running clothesline, Neville goes up top for the Red Arrow. Konnor distracts him on the apron, resulting in him falling like an oak from a superkick and Neville turns round to hit Viktor with an enzugiri. He goes back up and hits the Red Arrow for the win.

Natalya beat Summer Rae (8:44)

Immediately the crowd start up with “Natty!” chants and she tries to steal a win on the bell with a roll up, but Summer kicks out. Natalya uses a headlock takedown, but a headscissors gets Rae out of trouble. Rae tries to go for a German, but can’t get it and is again rolled up for two. Summer pulls Natty’s hair and slaps her round the face. In horror, Rae runs away from the angered Natalya who pulls Summer’s hair and then holds her leg for a good 20 seconds as Rae begs for forgiveness. Natalya throws Rae down face first and then goes for the Sharpshooter. Rae gets the ropes and then bails outside as we head to a break.

Rae is nailing Natty with kicks to the corner when we return. She poses in the middle and then locks in her new finisher, the Indian Death Lock. When she can’t get it done, she tries to pin Natty’s shoulders but can only get two. Natty reverses it, also for two. When Natalya gets up, she eats a clothesline by Rae followed by a woeful leg drop. Rae then chokes her on the bottom rope.

Rae snapmares Natalya and puts on a rear chin lock. Natalya powers out but is immediately kicked back down. Summer goes for a figure four, but is pushed off, face-first into the turnbuckle. Natty uses a side Russian leg sweep and clotheslines and basement drop kicks Rae. Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter but she is kicked off. Then there is big mess when Natty goes for a clothesline and Rae tries for a spinning heel kick. They just collide and fall down in the middle of the ring, letting the referee count them. They tried to cover it in camera cuts, but this was pretty unsavable. The finish sees a leg lariat by Rae, followed by another Indian Death Lock attempt, reversed by Natty into the Sharpshooter.

There was a great reaction when Natty finally had her finisher locked it in and despite some dodgy spots, this was ok. Summer Rae is definitely working hard to improve her in-ring game.
