California wildfires: TV station evacuated live on air as thousands flee
An explosive wildfire tore through two small northern California communities on Thursday before reaching the city of Redding, destroying dozens of homes and forcing thousands to flee.
The body of a bulldozer operator, who had been hired privately to clear vegetation in the path of the flames, was found by rescue crews.
Meanwhile, local television station KRCR-TV was providing live coverage of the inferno when news anchors Allison Woods and Tamara Damante announced they had been ordered to leave the building.
