Kane Officially Sworn In as Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee
The people of Knox County have a new mayor, and it is a name that wrestling fans are quite familiar with. None other than WWE Superstar Glenn Jacobs (better known as Kane) revealed several months ago that he would be entering the 2018 race to become the next mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Kane is a longtime resident of the are, and his passion clearly resonated with the other citizens as he recently won an election to take office. Kane was the Republican nominee in the race and defeated Democrat Linda Haney after he received 43,526 votes compared to Haney’s 22,295 votes. After spending years winning matches in the ring, Kane will now aim to start winning for the people of Knox County.
Glenn Jacobs officially took office as the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee earlier today. He was sworn into office at approximately 12pm ET. Kane’s official website says that his goals as mayor will be to keep taxes lower, increase the value of education, to create new jobs, improve the local construction and infrastructure, and to create safe and fantastic communities. Kane worked immensely hard over the past few months to build up his campaign, and he has literally been going door to door encouraging citizens to take a chance on him, and he does not intend on letting them down. Glenn Jacobs commented on his first official day in office by posting a tweet online, which can be viewed down below:

Fans of Kane will be devastated to learn that “The Big Red Monster’s” new job title will mean that he won’t be seen on WWE programming very often, but that does not mean that he is finished in the ring. Kane is still under contract to WWE at the moment and he has stated before that he has no issues with coming back to work an occasional match if his scheduled allows for it. Kane has been working in WWE for over twenty years and has achieved great success during his time there, which includes runs as a world champion. Kane will unquestionably be back in WWE and will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame someday, but Kane’s first priority will be the residents of Knox County for the foreseeable future.
