WWE Women’s Tag Titles Plans, News on Raw Next Week & Last Night
One major rumor that has been circulating for months now is the one which claims that WWE will be introducing a set of tag team championships for their women’s division. Previous reports claimed that the titles would be shared between both Raw and SmackDown. According to WrestlingNews.co, WWE will be announcing the new titles officially shortly. The report notes that women from all WWE brands, including NXT, will be eligible to take part in a tournament in order to decide the women’s tag team champions. More teams and stables have popped up on WWE programming lately because of the company’s plans to introduce the new titles soon. The finals of the tournament will reportedly be taking place at Evolution on October 26th.
Monday Night Raw last night was live from Denver, Colorado and it featured quite a few notable names backstage. As reported prior to the start of the show, The Undertaker was present backstage and took part in a photo shoot during his time in town. PWInsider has since reported that SmackDown General Manager Paige was there as well to shoot material for November’s Survivor Series event with Baron Corbin. NXT Superstars Dakota Kai and Shayna Baszler were also reportedly backstage for Raw last night, but there is no word on why they attended the show. Insider was not able to confirm if Brock Lesnar was backstage as well, but it was mentioned that some WWE officials believed he would be in town.
As for next week’s edition of Raw, the show will be held in Seattle Washington and it will feature another appearance from WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. Although this additional name was not confirmed by WWE during Raw last night, PWInsider reports that The Undertaker is now also set to appear on the program next week as well. Kevin Owens will square off against Bobby Lashley in a singles match during the same show, and Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey returns to action for a match against Ruby Riott. Next week’s episode of Raw will serve as the “go-home” show before the Super Show-Down event in Melbourne, Australia finally arrives and airs on the WWE Network on October 6th.
