BOSTON, Mass. (May 16, 2019) – Sharika Nelvis, Christina Clemons, Danielle Williams and Tobi Amusan, four of the world’s best women’s sprint hurdlers, will face off at the adidas Boost Boston Games, organizers announced today.

The adidas Boost Boston Games are North America’s first and only “street meet,” bringing world-class track and field out of the traditional stadium and onto a temporary straightaway track in the heart of one of America’s iconic cities.

With exactly one month to go until the adidas Boost Boston Games takes to its new location at Copley Square, the women’s 100m hurdles is shaping up to be one of the most exciting races in store for fans.

Sharika Nelvis and Christina Clemons formed half of the USA’s gold medal-winning Mixed Shuttle Hurdles Relay team at last weekend’s IAAF World Relay Championships in Yokohama, Japan. Not limited to relay success, both Nelvis and Clemons are seasoned championship performers: Nelvis is a two-time US Indoor Champion in the 60m hurdles and Clemons won the silver medal in the 60m hurdles at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships.

Challenging both Nelvis and Clemons will be international gold medalists Danielle Williams of Jamaica and Tobi Amusan of Nigeria. Williams took the world title in the 100m hurdles at the 2015 IAAF World Championships and showed top form earlier this month, besting an excellent field to win the 100m hurdles at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Doha, Qatar in a time of 12.66, the third-fastest time in the world for 2019. Amusan finished second to Williams in Doha by a mere 0.07 seconds and is the reigning Commonwealth Games Champion in the 100m hurdles.

In the women’s 200m hurdles, three of America’s best intermediate hurdlers are set to provide compelling action in the rarely run race:

Shamier Little, the 2015 IAAF World Championships silver medalist and three-time NCAA Champion in the 400m hurdles;

Cassandra Tate, the 2015 IAAF World Championships bronze medalist and 2012 NCAA Champion in the 400m hurdles;

Georganne Moline, fifth in the 400m hurdles at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Earlier in the day, the public will participate in the new adidas Boost Back Bay Mileraces, held on the same course as the elite races. The races will be divided by age group. Registration is available today at www.adidasboostboston.com.

The adidas Boost Boston Games, produced by Boston-based Global Athletics and Marketing, Inc., is part of the 2019 USATF Outdoor Championship Series and will be broadcast live from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT on NBC Sports Gold and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EDT on NBC on Sunday, June 16.
