With the 2018 Virgin Money London Marathon ballot results announced at the start of October, runners across the country will now be planning accordingly. Be it the successful ‘YOU’RE IN’ delivery or a ‘SORRY’ magazine dropping to the floor, runners will be looking to prep their 2018 race calendar.

The Reading Half Marathon is just five weeks prior to the London Marathon. It’s the perfect event to fill that spring race spot or to test your legs and practice that marathon pace ahead of the big 26.2 in April.

Reading Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 18 March, 2018 – it’s one of the largest and fastest half marathons in the UK. Nearly 15,000 registered runners took part in 2017, from first timers to Britain’s elite.

The 2018 half marathon route promises to be as impressive as ever, taking in the highlights of Reading town centre. A world renowned course, huge crowd support, musical entertainment, beautiful University grounds and a field of seasoned athletes inspire a momentous finish inside Madejski Stadium, the home of Reading FC.

Judith Manson, Race Director, says: “As an event, we’re renowned for our electric atmosphere, the huge local support lining the 13.1-mile route and the unique roaring atmosphere of the hero finish in the Madejski Stadium. We can’t wait to welcome thousands of runners to the start line in March. Whether it’s your first mass participation running event or your final few weeks of preparation ahead of the London Marathon, we want to be that platform for personal bests and huge high fives at the finish line!”

Registration is now open. Whether you’re looking for that pre-26.2 taper or you weren’t successful in your marathon quest, this world renowned, spectator filled, stadium finish is for you!
