Target Down: Hilarious Tweets Document Shopping 'Armageddon'
MINNEAPOLIS — Target registers are back online after a global outage Saturday that created a shopping “Armageddon,” preventing customers from purchasing any items at stores for about two hours. In an emailed statement, Target said the temporary outage was because of an internal technology issue.

The company also said the outage was not a data breach or a security-related issue and no guest information was compromised.
Target apologized for any “inconvenience and frustration” shoppers may have experienced.
“We appreciate all of our store team members who worked quickly to assist guests and thank everyone involved for their patience,” the statement said.
Multiple posts on social media showed people waiting in long lines at Target stores as customers waited in the midst of the outage.
Several customers, however, were able to make light of the situation through humor:
According to the website downdetector.com, there was a spike in issues being reported at Target starting at 12:42 p.m. central time.
