Nicholas Kirkwood to exit Pollini
The British designer is leaving the Italian luxury shoe and accessories label Pollini when his contract ends, according to reports by the online Italian site Fashion Magazine.
Kirkwood is said to be leaving the brand in order to concentrate on his eponymous label, which has been part of LVMH since 2013, when the luxury conglomerate acquired a major stake in the brand.
Kirkwood, who is a favourite of high profile figures like Sarah Jessica Parker and Michelle Obama, joined Pollini as a consultant in 2008 and was appointed creative director of the historic brand in 2010. Prior to Pollini, he worked for Jonathan Saunders. His last collection for Pollini will be spring-summer 2015.
Pollini, which was acquired by the Aeffe group in 2001, has yet to name Kirkwood’s successor but has said that the announcement will be made as soon as formalities has been dealt with.
