“We are incredibly honored to support Luke’s Purpose and their mission to alleviate the financial burden on families during their darkest time,” Mary Miller, president of the Lola Jayne Foundation, told Patch. “We met Ashley and Burak in our therapy group and it was there that we learned that survival is a community event. We hope to help as many grieving families as possible in honor of our daughter Lola.”
Ashley and Burak Meyveci founded Luke’s Purpose after the death of their son, Luke, in October 2022.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude to The Lola Jayne foundation for awarding Luke’s Purpose this grant,” Ashley Meyveci said. “These funds are going to help take the financial burden away from grieving parents, who will hopefully have one less thing to worry about. We can’t thank Chris and Mary enough for selecting us as this years recipient. Partnering with them will make an impact on the child loss community.”
The Lola Jayne Foundation was created by Chris White and Mary Miller after their daughter Lola died suddenly at 9 months old in December 2022. The foundation believes that no parent should have to face the pain and trauma of losing a child alone. By supporting organizations that provide resources and assistance to grieving parents, The Lola Jayne Foundation hopes to ease their burden and provide them with the support they need during this difficult time. The charity is based in Seaford.
Luke’s Purpose is dedicated to helping families with finances related to child loss, including funeral and cemetery costs, mental health fees, and medical bills.
“Like Chris and Mary, we want to keep the memory of our children alive, we want the world to know Luke and Lola, and we want to change the world in honor of them,” Meyveci said.
Child loss goes beyond the funeral and services, Meyveci said.
“Luke’s Purpose is also dedicated to helping families connect with grief counseling resources, group therapy and even sibling loss resources,” she said. “Burak and I met Chris and Mary at our group counseling. It was truly our saving grace to connect with other parents who have experienced loss like we had. We know how important it is for community, and we hope to help families connect with other loss parents and siblings.”
