ROCKDALE — The Rockdale Police Department arrested a 21-year-old Chicago man last week in connection with allegations that Marco Nash tried to strangle a Rockdale woman and then attacked one of the police officers responding to the call.

The attack happened on July 7 and the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office went ahead and charged Nash with aggravated domestic battery, two counts of aggravated battery, obstructing a peace officer, four counts of domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

The criminal complaint indicates that Nash strangled the woman and then made contact with Kurt Griffing, knowing him to be a peace officer performing his official duties, in that Nash struck Griffing in the head.
