“Now, this is a design I haven’t seen before—cute and multifunctional,” Winfrey wrote. “It holds my water bottle when I’m hiking in Maui; for city walkabouts, the pocket holds a phone and a credit card.”
The company was founded by Connecticut residents Katie Hill, who has a background in fashion, and Lisa Watkins, who has a background in technology.
Watkins told the Oprah Daily website that the two were at a trade show when she got an email about making the Favorite Things list.
“I was so excited,” Watkins told Oprah Daily. “I came back to the room where Katie was speaking to a group, and I’m like, ‘I need to talk to you.’ And she says, ‘Okay.’ I’m like, ‘No, I really need to talk to you.’ So she excused herself—she wanted to know if something was wrong. I said, ‘We’re on Oprah’s Favorite Things.’ We were jumping up and down and high-fiving each other. Super, super, super excited.”
