Weapons Stash Found In Indio

INDIO, CA — A weapons stash was found Tuesday by gang task force officers conducting a search warrant service in Indio, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced.

The warrant was served at 6:30 a.m. at a residence in the 81000 block of Sirocco Avenue. The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol K-9 Team and California Highway Patrol Aviation, took part in the operation that stemmed from an investigation involving illegally possessed firearms, according to the sheriff’s department.

At the home, law enforcement found a Mac-11 pistol, an AKM pistol, a non-serialized AR-15 rifle, an AR-15 rifle that was reported stolen, a semi-automatic PA-63 handgun, an AR-15 rifle, and a 1911 semi-automatic handgun, the sheriff’s department said.

Indio residents Michael Angel Rodriguez, 27, was arrested on suspicion of multiple felony weapons violations, while 52-year-old Gregorio Figueroa Martinez was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unregistered firearm, according to the agency.
