GRANADA HILLS, CA — A small brush fire broke out in the Granada Hills area Tuesday evening, but firefighters were able to hold it to less than one acre.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews were called to the scene of a 200-feet-by-200-feet blaze in the 6400 block of North Balboa Boulevard just after 7 p.m. The fire was burning in “light flashy fuel with no wind,” said Nicholas Prange, LAFD spokesman.

“It took 51 firefighters 35 minutes to contain the flames, holding them to less than one acre,” said Prange. “Crews will remain on scene to fortify perimeter containment lines and ensure all hot spots within the burn footprint have been eliminated.”
