Migrant Kitchen Opening Central Park Location

The Migrant Kitchen only opened recently at West 67th Street and Columbus Avenue, but now the Middle East and Latin fusion restaurant will become the vendor at the “Ballfields Cafe” near the Heckscher Ballfields in Central Park.

The menu will stay the same for the most part, but also add a variety of traditional American ballpark grub.

Migrant Kitchen is replacing the Panda Bubble Tea that used to operate out of the Central Park building.

The Parks Department still has to give final approval on the opening.

Pig & Khao Opening Upper West Side Location

The southeast Asian food spot that already has locations on the Lower East Side and in Midtown will be opening on the Upper West Side.

Pig & Khao will open at 433 Amsterdam Ave. on West 81st Street, in the former home of RA Sushi.

The eatery serves up pork belly adobo, noodles, fried fish, duck, fried Brussels sprouts, cocktails and more.

Pig & Khao is headed by Top Chef contestant Leah Cohen, who also has a show on PBS.

Fred’s And Tiki Chick Expand Their Footprint

A pair of nearby and popular bars are expanding their Upper West Side spaces.

Fred’s, the longtime spot at the corner of West 83rd Street and Amsterdam, will expand to the adjacent storefront to create a high-end cocktail bar.

The space is already connected to Fred’s, and was formerly home to Zai’s Dessertery.

A few blocks up at the corner of West 85th Street and Amsterdam, the also popular Tiki Chick Bar will also expand.

Tiki will be taking over the former storefront of Lucky Pickle Dumpling Co., and adding 20 tables seats and five bar stools to its operation.

Jacob Hadjigeorgis, who owns the bar along with the next door Jacob’s Pickles, said they will use the expansion to add more food offerings.

A hard opening date wasn’t provided for either of the new spaces, but neither business will close during the construction period.
