MP: Local BJP Leader's Brother Kidnaps, Assaults Cop Who Stopped Him From Using Police Siren
In a shocking incident, a man in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar kidnapped and assaulted a policeman after he was stopped from continuously honking his car’s horn.

On Wednesday, Chandrahas alias Hallu Dangi, brother of a local BJP leader, abducted the Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI), Ramlal Ahirwar, Free Press Journal reported.

Cop was on duty during abduction
As per the report, ASI Ahirwar, a cop at the Gourjhamar police station, was doing duty at the bus stand when the incident occurred.
In the area, ASI Ahirwar spotted Chandrahas, who was continually honking the vehicle’s horn – personalised as a police siren. Upon this, Ahirwar prevented him from doing so, which resulted in an argument.
After that, the argument escalated and Chandrahas took ASI Ahirwar with him in his four-wheeler. In response, the other police officers accompanying Ahirwar started chasing the vehicle.

The accused took ASI Ahirwar to Barkoti village and assaulted him. Following the attack, he left Ahirwar on the spot and fled.
When the officers chasing the vehicle arrived at the spot, they found Ahirwar in an injured condition.
Case registered against accused
A case has been registered against Chandrahas under relevant sections for assault, kidnapping and obstructing official work.
Based on ASI Ahirwar’s complaint, a case was lodged under sections 353, 186, 332, 365 of the Indian Penal Code and the SC/ST Act.
“We have registered a case against the accused and are searching for him. The accused is an alcohol addict. He belongs to Barkoti village but resides in Makronia. His family owns private buses in the area,” said Brijmohan Kushwaha, Gourjhamar police station in-charge.
The police also revealed that the accused is BJP leader Rajkumar Barkoti’s brother.
Raj Kumar served as the vice president of the district panchayat in 2000.
