Batista Reveals He Might Ask Marvel to Release Him From His “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” Contract

Former WWE Champion and actor Dave “Batista” Bautista continues to speak out in support of James Gunn, who was fired from directing “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” when old Tweets resurfaced containing controversial comments from the movie director.

Earlier today, we noted that Batista recently took a shot at Disney, the Marvel Studios parent company, claiming it’s “nauseating” working for a company that empowered what he called a “smear campaign” against Gunn by “cyber Nazis”. While speaking to Shortlist.com, Batista doubled-down on his comments regarding the Gunn situation.

“Nobody’s defending his tweets, but this was a smear campaign on a good man,” Bautista explained, “I spoke to Chris Pratt the day after it happened and he’s a bit religious so he wanted time to pray and figure it out, but I was more like: f*** this. This is bulls***. James is one of the kindest, most decent people I’ve met.”

Additionally, Batista claims that if Marvel Studios does not use the script penned by James Gunn, then he might ask the studio to be released from his contract and walk away from the project.

“Where I’m at right now is that if [Marvel] don’t use that script, then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me.  I’d be doing James a disservice if I didn’t.”
