Update: Aleister Black Reportedly Undergoes Surgery After Recent Injury; Potential Timetable for His Return
Earlier this week it was reported that NXT Superstar Aleister Black suffered a groin injury during a recent house show match in Las Vegas, and that surgery might be necessary.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the former champion did in fact undergo surgery recently to repair the injured groin muscle, and his status is in question for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn in just two weeks time. The report noted that recovery time is generally around three weeks. While that normally wouldn’t be an issue, given that they tape so many of their shows in advance, but with SummerSlam weekend rapidly approaching it’s just a matter of time and if he can get the all-clear from WWE doctors.
Right now, the current plan based on this week’s television and the most recent set of spoiler-filled television taping results, is to have Tommaso Ciampa defend the NXT Championship in a triple threat against Johnny Gargano and Black.
