Big Show Returns to the Ring This Tuesday on Smackdown Live for WWE World Cup Qualifier

WWE will return to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Nov. 2nd, and with it comes not only a colossal bout for the Universal Championship, but the first ever WWE World Cup Tournament.

As previously reported, the World Cup will feature exclusively top superstars squaring off in a series of matches, with the winner being awarded a special trophy (and perhaps a championship belt, if the Greatest Royal Rumble event is any indication of what to expect).

WWE.com has officially confirmed that qualifying matches will take place this Tuesday night on Smackdown Live. Not only that, but two major names will be returning to the blue brand for said matches, as the Big Show is scheduled to return to action, taking on “The Viper” Randy Orton. Jeff Hardy will also make his return for the first time since Hell in a Cell, going one-on-one with Samoa Joe.

And I know what you’re thinking – isn’t Big Show a Raw brand superstar? And the answer is… Yes. Yes he is. But then again, John Cena is a free agent, Chris Jericho is literally a New Japan Pro Wrestling champion despite still being on the active roster page at WWE.com, and the Bella Twins seem to be able to work wherever the heck they want. At this point, we’re just kind of rolling with it.
